The State Comptroller was charged with reporting on state financial conditions and operations annually to the Governor. The annual reports present detailed statistical accounts in exhibits and schedules. Included are a summary financial statement and reconcilement with the Treasurer; a departmental operating statement, including receipts and disbursements of the General, Special, and Trust Funds, the Pension Fund, the Public School Fund, the Special Educational Trust Fund, Federal Educational Funds, the Convict Department, Agriculture and Industries, the Public Service Commission, the Highway Department, Game and Fisheries, the Oyster Protection Fund, and the State Insurance Fund; revenue collections by county, including probate judges and tax collectors; collections of ad valorem taxes, land redemptions, and the sale and assignment of tax lands; and bonded debt statements, containing a summary and general obligations, and maturities, interest, and payments of Harbor Improvement Bonds, the Highway 1923 Issue, the Highway 1927 Issue, Income Tax Refunding Bonds, and the Alabama Bridge Corporation, and debt service requirements for the next three fiscal years. Some data is retrospective. The information given in each report may vary somewhat from year to year.
